Janvi Lalwani
She believes, “You can’t choose a future you’ve never been shown,” which drives her work to make opportunities visible to every child.

Janvi Lalwani (16), is from India. Janvi’s drive to create change traces back to her family’s history: her grandparents migrated from Pakistan to India in the 1970s, leaving everything behind to build a new life. That story of resilience inspired her to make sure other children have real opportunities and awareness about their future.
As President of Unnati, Janvi leads a youth-led organization bridging the awareness gap in underserved communities. She’s conducted over 30 interactive career awareness sessions in government schools, reaching more than 6,500 students and introducing them to career paths beyond the conventional. She built a team of 10 core members and 30+ volunteers, expanding outreach across Rajasthan and into Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Chandigarh. She also developed a bilingual website offering curated resources on online learning platforms and guidance on government scholarships.
The impact has been substantial: over 6,500 students reached in person, plus a digital reach of 500 to 2,000 more through social media and the website. A highlight was the Unnati Career Fest 2025, bringing together around 500 students for direct interaction with professionals. Janvi is proving that awareness itself can be a powerful tool for opening doors that once felt closed.
