Joya Banik

"Together, we protect children's rights and ensure equal opportunities for every child."

Joya Banik (15), is a young changemaker from Bangladesh who grew up seeing inequality, child labor and limited awareness of children’s rights in her community. These experiences inspired her to speak up and help children understand their rights.

Joya leads awareness campaigns in schools and communities, teaching children and parents about education, safety, protection from child labor and early marriage. Through workshops and peer education sessions, she creates space for children to speak openly about injustice, build confidence and learn how to stay safe.

Joya also takes action against child marriage. She works with local leaders and community members to identify children at risk and report cases to the responsible authorities, contributing to prevention efforts. With support from parents, teachers and local organisations, she continues to turn awareness into action and make children’s rights better understood in her community
