Luis Daniel García Camargo

Protecting children and adolescents is not only the responsibility of governments or organizations—it is a shared commitment. Every action, no matter how small, helps close the door to exploitation and open pathways of hope.

Luis Daniel (16), is from Colombia. Growing up in La Guajira, Colombia, a region facing serious structural challenges for children, Luis Daniel developed an early and unshakable sense of justice. Now a first-year law student, he’s turned that sense of justice into a mission: defending the rights of children and adolescents.

His work began through school workshops, where he encountered Fundación Renacer’s efforts against human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Inspired, he became a youth leader in his school, working with the School Protection Committee to make preventing sexual violence a real priority in his educational environment.

Luis Daniel took his advocacy further, joining Albania’s territorial roundtable against sexual exploitation to help strengthen community prevention strategies. He even ran for the Youth Council on a platform centered on protecting children’s rights.

As coordinator of a youth group, he co-led “Conexiones Seguras,” a campaign promoting safe online behavior and preventing exploitation and trafficking — reaching a wide audience through strategic digital communication.

With his parents’ steady support behind him, Luis Daniel is proving that justice can start with one determined young voice.
