Giving children a respectful environment of their rights, it is waking up the useful and incontestable potential for a revolutionized world..

Pathinvo Loane Dwyane Ericka Fenou

Pathinvo Loane Dwyane Ericka Fenou (12), is from Benin. Growing up with congenital cataracts, Pathinvo experienced emotional violence from classmates because of her eyes — an experience that once made her hate school. Rather than let that pain define her, she turned it into purpose.

Now serving as Children’s Mayoress of Cotonou District and Children’s Mayoress President in Benin, Pathinvo fights against school violence and the exclusion of children, advocating for every school to be a place where students can learn with dignity. She appeals directly to authorities to improve children’s living conditions, donates scholar kits to disadvantaged children each school year, and shares lunches, food, and toys with orphans.

She also organizes “Les Olympiades de l’Eloquence,” a free public speaking competition for children aged 10 to 15, giving them a platform to be heard. Through the Institut Français Benin and the Peace Corps’ professional youth training project, she runs information sessions on children’s rights for students across all twelve departments of Benin.

With her parents’ full support — physical, emotional, and financial — Pathinvo turned her own hardship into a mission of dignity and safety for children everywhere.
