Arundhati Sinha
Never give up and inspire change

Arundhati Sinha (16), from Sri Lanka, has spent a decade training in wushu, a sport traditionally dominated by men in Sri Lanka. During the selection trials for the 2026 10th World Junior Wushu Championship, she says she received significantly lower scores than a male athlete despite what she describes as stronger technique, timing and overall performance. For Arundhati, the experience exposed a wider issue: young athletes deserve fairness, dignity and equal opportunity in sport.
Instead of staying silent, Arundhati spoke up. She challenged discrimination and the treatment of young athletes, using her own experience to advocate for child rights in sport.
Her journey shows the courage it takes to question unfair systems, especially in spaces where young people may feel they have little power. Arundhati is using her voice to push for a sporting environment where every child can compete, be judged fairly and have their rights respected.
