Djem Kengne Marc Edouard

Every child deserves protection, education, and a voice. By standing up for their rights and supporting one another, children can create safer, more inclusive communities and inspire positive change for a better future.

Djem Kengne Marc Edouard

Djem Kengne Marc Edouard (17), is from Cameroon. Growing up, Djem saw many children around him facing poverty, limited access to education, and a lack of protection for their basic rights. Watching these injustices up close shaped his awareness early, and instead of looking away, he decided to act.

Djem organizes child rights awareness sessions in schools and communities, teaching children about their right to education, protection, and participation. He mentors younger children, encouraging them to stay in school, build confidence, and speak up against discrimination and violence. He leads campaigns against school dropout, especially for girls and vulnerable children, and works with adults and community groups to connect struggling children with educational materials and support services.

Through consistent, grassroots effort, Djem has built real visibility in his community, one conversation and one mentorship at a time. His school- and community-based work has helped reduce early school dropout and given more children the confidence to speak up for their rights, proving that lasting change often starts small and local, with someone willing to show up again and again.
