No child deserves to live in fear; together we must protect their rights and build a world free from violence

Levi Edenikson Chávez Martinez (17), is from El Salvador. Growing up in El Salvador, Levi saw firsthand the challenges facing children in his country — limited opportunities, violence, and a lack of real say in decisions that shape their lives. Those experiences sparked a deep sense of responsibility to do something about it.
Levi began organizing national meetings across El Salvador, bringing children and young people together to learn about their rights and share leadership experiences. He designed and coordinated these gatherings himself, creating spaces for young people to connect and grow across different parts of the country.
He also leads leadership and rights workshops, helping other children and young people understand their rights — and how to defend them.
With the backing of his parents and other adults who believe in his leadership, Levi is helping build a generation of young Salvadorans who know their voice matters and are ready to use it.
