Maloum Gloria Pamela
Children are not merely the beneficiaries of peace; they are the essential, strategic architects of security and the most credible agents for structural reform.

Maloum Gloria Pamela (17), is from Cameroon. Growing up amid conflict in Central Africa, Maloum witnessed grave violations of children’s rights firsthand — from child soldier recruitment to the neglect of survivors of sexual violence during peace processes. Rather than being defined by it, she turned that experience into a mission for change.
Maloum engaged directly in the dangerous work of Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR), building youth-led frameworks that helped foster the trust needed for combatants to peacefully surrender, always keeping children’s safety as the top priority. She used this firsthand experience to help shape UN policy briefs, shifting the narrative around children from passive victims to active partners in peace and security.
She also designed the Gender-Peace-Migration Club model, a peer-to-peer mentorship system offering psycho-social support and economic empowerment to survivors of sexual violence. These clubs have grown into early warning systems, helping communities spot danger and organize their own protection.
In total, Maloum’s work has reached over 50,000 children through training, mobilized 455 youth and women-led platforms across the region, and reached more than 8 million people through public campaigns.
