Nashan Reyes (17), growing up between the United States and Puerto Rico, Nashan was exposed early to cultural change, inequality, and the challenges young people face when their voices go unheard. Witnessing bullying, discrimination, and limited opportunities firsthand pushed them to speak up.

Nashan creates and shares digital content focused on children’s rights, social justice, and youth empowerment, using public speaking and storytelling to bring attention to issues like bullying and unequal access to opportunity. Through consistent, honest storytelling, they’ve built an audience of around 25,000 followers and over 725,000 views across their content.

Nashan has also taken part in youth leadership and advocacy programs promoting children’s participation in decision-making, and collaborated with organizations to amplify messages about dignity, safety, and equal rights for children. Through the It Gets Better Youth Voices program, their advocacy reached an estimated 118,000 more views.

With their parents encouraging civic engagement and the courage to use their voice, Nashan is helping make sure young people are heard, protected, and included in the decisions that shape their lives.
