Beya Ntambwe Joachim

“I write community biographies so the world can witness these atrocities, with the hope that things will finally change.”

Beya Ntambwe Joachim (16), is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. At 12, Beya Ntambwe Joachim entered the humanitarian field. He began writing poems and engaged texts about the situation in his country and the challenges children face, especially in a region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo devastated by war. He calls his approach “community biographies”, writing from the perspective of his community and looking for solutions to the problems it faces.

Joachim turns his words into action. He organizes workshops and school activities to raise awareness of children’s rights, including a program funded by Earth Guardians. He also produces films about violence and children’s experiences, runs awareness campaigns, and uses photography to show children’s reality. His child-centred platform encourages young people to take part.

His work is helping children and communities better understand their rights and the challenges around them. Much of Joachim’s work is still poorly documented and has not yet gained significant recognition on social media, but his message reaches many people through his networks. His mother strongly supports him as he continues to speak up for children.
