Abigail Epongseh Mba’ah Mbatu
"Girls with Vision, Communities with Hope"

Abigail Epongseh Mba’ah Mbatu (17), from Cameroon, grew up seeing how inequality, limited access to education and a lack of guidance affect children, especially girls. She believes young people should have a voice in shaping their own lives and communities. That belief drives her work to help children become active changemakers.
Through Girls for Global Impact (G4GI), Abigail created a child-led platform that centers girls’ voices and leadership in conversations about children’s rights. She creates safe spaces to discuss education, confidence, gender inequality and leadership, while offering mentorship, peer learning and guidance on accessing global opportunities.
Abigail also founded Hope Springs Foundation, supporting orphans and vulnerable children with basic needs while promoting their right to protection, care and a safe childhood. Through storytelling, civic education and digital engagement, she continues to connect children’s rights with community responsibility. Her work is helping young people find their voice, build confidence and see themselves as active agents of change.
