Vivaan Bajoria

Vivaan Bajoria (17), from India, became his grandfather’s primary caregiver at just 13, watching him decline from a myasthenic crisis during COVID. Vivaan learned to read his gestures like a language—a tap for the remote, a tug at the shirt for help with a button—and this intimate understanding of lost independence became the foundation for Aekya, an adaptive fashion tech company.

Vivaan co-created adaptive uniforms with Mitti Cafe employees and customized them for Udaan School students, replacing restrictive elements with Velcro closures, magnetic buttons, and wheelchair-friendly cuts that let children dress independently. Rather than selling adaptive clothing as a costly one-off purchase, he built a B2B supply chain, making these uniforms part of standard school budgets so every child benefits. He secured a 3-year manufacturing partnership with Naval Exporters and set up hyperlocal production in Kashmir, training women tailors in conflict-affected zones to meet local needs.

Through partnerships with Mitti Cafe, Udaan School, and Bihar School of Yoga, Vivaan has reached 43,950 people, while training 12 women artisans to sustain his supply chain—proving that thoughtful design and smart business strategy can transform accessibility for children with disabilities.
